Who we are

This policy explains how MavenUK Limited ("MavenUK", "we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you visit mavenuk.store, buy from us, sell to us or contact us. MavenUK Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 15314853, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller for your personal data. You can contact us about this policy at ryan@mavenuk.store.

What we collect

  • Contact and order details: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address, the items you buy, and your order history.
  • Payment details: payments are processed by Shopify Payments, PayPal and Clearpay. We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Messages: what you send us by email, WhatsApp, Instagram or our contact form, including photos you share when selling, sourcing or part-exchanging a jacket.
  • Seller details: if you sell to us, your name, contact details, the items you sell and the bank or PayPal details we need to pay you.
  • Device and browsing data: your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, items added to your basket and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have signed up to our emails or texts and how you interact with them.

How we use it and our legal basis

  • To take, process, deliver and support your order, handle returns and refunds, and buy items you sell to us (performance of a contract).
  • To prevent fraud, keep our site secure and keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation and legitimate interests).
  • To answer your questions and help with sizing, sourcing and part exchange (legitimate interests).
  • To send marketing emails and texts about new stock, offers and our sister store Northline Furs, where you have agreed or where you are an existing customer and have not opted out (consent or legitimate interests). Every message has an unsubscribe link.
  • To understand how our site is used and to show you relevant adverts on Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and other sites (consent, collected through our cookie banner where required).

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies from Shopify, Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Merchant Center), Meta (the Meta pixel and Conversions API), Klaviyo and Triple Whale to run the store, measure performance and show adverts. We use Google Analytics Advertising Features, including Google Signals, remarketing and demographic and interest reporting. This means Google may link data from our site to your Google account where you have allowed personalised ads, and we may show you adverts on other sites after you visit ours.

You can manage cookies through our cookie banner and your browser settings, control Google adverts at adssettings.google.com, opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and manage Meta adverts in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings. We respect the Global Privacy Control signal where your browser sends it.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed with: Shopify (our store platform); Shopify Payments, PayPal and Clearpay (payments); Royal Mail and other carriers (delivery); Klaviyo (email and text marketing); Google, Meta and Triple Whale (analytics and advertising); Trustpilot (review invitations); WhatsApp (messaging); our accountants and professional advisers; and the police, HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it. We never sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, mainly in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or another lawful safeguard.

How long we keep it

We keep order and accounting records for 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK tax law requires. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or have not engaged with us for 3 years. Messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email ryan@mavenuk.store. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113), although we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children

Our store is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with the date it was last updated.
